In the world of the Untamed, it was set in Ancient Fantasy China. Cultivation is the idea of alchemy and spiritual energy and qi manipulation which is rooted in Daoist and Buddhist traditions and mysticism to engage in meditations, grueling training and schooling under a master teacher, pursue immortality, achieve a high spiritual power to increase incredible powers, and basically, it's the Eastern style of sorcery with swords. Practitioners of this spiritual energy and martial arts are called cultivators.
In pursuit of this path, Xingchen is a cultivator. He is a student of Baoshan Sanren, a cultivator who was said to live on a celestial mountain secluded from the rest of the world and become an immortal and was believed to live a hundred years. All of her pupils vowed to devote their whole lives to her and to cultivation, never to leave the mountain or entering human society. If they chose to leave, they would never be able to return to the mountain or speak with their teacher again. Xingchen is one of her students that she trained, and at one point, he did leave.
At age seventeen, he left her sect to pursue the idea of ridding the world of evil and save the world. He doesn't align himself to any sect as he travels alone. He made a name for himself as a renowned cultivator, and his sword Shuanguas. Eventually, he met Song Lan, a fellow cultivator he befriended, and sharing similar ideas, they wanted to create a sect where there is no hierarchy or blood-ties. Being a martial artist and a fighter, he is also a dreamer and is driven by his motivation in wanting to save the world from evil. As a Daoist priest, he even offered his services for free to help people.
ADAPTATION: Xiao Xingchen as a hero was very idealistic, compassionate, and kind. He is also naive, believing in the good of people, that people share his views of kindness and justice. It's the point he may ignore the advice of others to pursue this expectation and idea. He is guided by a strong moral compass of justice, and yet he trust others too easily to believe in the same. He is very much a hero, who believes the idea of fairness, good, and justice for all, but cannot see people's intentions clearly. At times, he can be literally blind to the wickedness of others, believing to only to see their good side and not the wickedness they commit, as he keeps giving them second chances.
PRESENTATION: Xiao Xingchen is a gentleman who is soft-spoken. Taught by a mysterious sect, like the moon, he can be seen as elegant and mysterious. In public, he carries himself with dignity and he trusts people easily, acting on good faith and will of others, and always wanting to help, and never think of himself. He lives by his intuition and inner moral compass to help others in need, much to his own deterrent, even if it's a random stranger, he is kind to them. However, he is humble and doesn't have good self-esteem, so he is very much a private man who doesn't enjoy being in the spotlight. He may appear to be mysterious to others, always a gentle smile to hide the pain he has in the inside. While he may have liked the attention of being in the public eye, he may lead them to help others who are less fortunate instead of giving much focus on himself as he is very much indifferent to being a famous celebrity, completely detached from wordly desires as a Daoist priest.
PSYCHOLOGY: At the very heart, Xiao Xingchen is very much a dreamer. He is lead by his own dreams, ideas, visions. He can be empathetic, compassionate, and kind. Unfortunately, his strongest emotional traits is a weakness that is already exploited and manipulated. He's the sort that helps a villain, a criminal, and never knew what they had done and he may did their dirty work without realizing it because he will only see the good in others. In a way, he was naive, empathetic, and very soft-hearted, always willing to help others.
He believes in justice, that evil should be punished and be accounted for. He wants to teach the good in everyone. He enjoys saving other people and is selfless to a fault. He never thinks of himself. He gives up his pair of eyes to his best friend, Song Lan so he could see again, and yet he accepted Song Lan is angry at him, lashing out at him in grief, and left him blind to wander the world, in acceptance, having fully believed Song Lan hated him. He can also be strong and stubborn, in giving himself up to everyone to try to save the world. He will refuse help from others, trying to rely on his own judgment as he continues to travel on his own before meeting A-Qing and Xue Yang and lives with them, caring for them.
His decisions in life lead him to regret, and he can be very insecure in the decisions he makes, not certain if he did the right thing or not. He has cared for and harbored for a criminal for many years, not knowing his true identity. He is also responsible for a child who is a petty thief, and nursing the criminal Xue Yang back to health while being blind to who he is, Xue Yang is responsible for the massacre of Song Lang's clan, his poisoning, and the reason he gave up his eyes. This empathy and compassion he shows to the wrong people he trusts and leads himself to be betrayed by, which then he often guilt trips himself immensely to the point of guilt and pain over the sacrifices he made as He is responsible for the slaughter of people in the village of Yi City that Xue Yang tricked him to kill.
His secret is the pain he kept over his actions of being manipulated by someone he trusts and have it broken. His breaking point was that he was manipulated by Xue Yang into mass-murdering and killing Song by his own hand's under Xue Yang's trickery. Realizing what he has done, he uses his own sword to take his own life over his guilt.
All in all, Xingchen lives up to his title. "Bright moon and gentle breeze" which is a very good description of his personality, his thoughts, and his deeds. He is soft-heard, gentle, and kind, and wants nothing more to bring good and light into the world by trying to save it, but being blind to the faults and evil of others.
Being alive again, he hopes to make things right again and change the course of his path, and finally learn to grow and open his eyes to his past mistakes, and heal his guilt and regrets by learning from his mistakes.
POWER #1: Golden core cultivation
DESCRIPTION: Golden Core Cultivation: He has been taught and train in Cultivation. He has formed a golden core, the source of his spirit energy. He has a high spiritual ability to heal others, channeling his qi to calm the spirits and minds of others to heal, and transfers his spiritual energy to heal others. His golden core is located in the naval.
- Super-physical strength/Wuxia-style martial arts/acrobats: Just like you see in the martial art movies, he was trained in a variety of physical combat and martial arts as a child in the sect. Martial art include hand-to-hand combat of kung-fu. He can also jump to the rooftop like a parkour boss or fly through the air during sword-fighting.
- Sword fighting techniques: He is a skilled swordfighter. His sword can fly and be used as a surfboard. He can call the sword to himself via telekinesis. However, the sword must be within the same area/radius within line of sight for it to work
- Enhanced self-healing: Since he has a golden core, so heals at about four times of the average human. Rigorous training means he's stronger, has a higher endurance and ability to sustain an injury, and higher tolerance to pain.
- Spirit healing/healing others/share spirit energy: He can heal others using his spiritual energy to transfers to another to help the healing process and stabilize the injured person in case of an emergency. Also works to share spirit energy to help boost or stabilize the other party's spells or meditation.
- Psychic abilities/sensing people's energies: He works with spirits/undead and spiritual/chi in his fieldwork. He is extra sensitive to sense spirits and energies from the living or dead. It may not be accurate, but this extra spirit energy sensitivity is in line with his fieldwork. He is able to sense spirits who have passed and deceased depending on how strongly the spirit manifests itself or the spiritual energy of living human beings of others within a reasonable distance. However, this is only limited in Jeopardy. When sensing other living people's auras or spirit energy, they must within the same area at least roughly in a few yard radius and he has to concentrate on locating them. However, like a phone, the distance between him and his target determines the energy signal and he needs to concentrate on his target.
- Talismans magic spells: Talisman uses varies depending on the spell. He draws character, sigils, and imbues magical spells on a piece of paper and imbues with his spiritual energy with a chant or mantra. Most of his talismans is meant to restrain, protect, and repel ghosts, demons, monsters, in the event of exorcism or malevolent energies. However, when used on living people the talisman can paralyze the meridians otherwise known in Wuxia logic if you press acupuncture points on certain acupuncture points of meridians and chakras in order to paralyze the body completely. He is to create talisman magic in his field of work to calm/dispel restless spirits, repel them, ward them. Other uses, he draws up shields in a protective bubble of a barrier to protect himself against spiritual and magical attacks, set up an alarm to alert him of intruders within a limited radius. For practical uses, he can draw up a fire to make a campfire or draw up a light to light up the darkness. For game purposes, they have a limit of 30 minutes and a radius of 25ft to 50ft depending on how much energy he puts in. Each paper spell has one use per sheet of paper.
WEAKNESS: This power can be defeated if he used too much of it, or exerts himself as the human body has limits

DESCRIPTION: Shuanghua is a magical sword that has the special ability to detect and pointing out the direction of undead and resentful energy left by the spirits of the dead. It can also fly and answer to his call via telekinesis, and fly to be used as a surfboard. He uses to go night-hunting to kill monsters
WEAKNESS: The sword cannot sense the difference between a dead corpse or a living corpse, someone who’s been subjected to corpse poisoning or been infected or already zombified, so the sword just generally sense "undead" or "resentful energy"
POWER #3: Psychic sixth sense
DESCRIPTION: Since he used to being blind in a world of darkness, to compensate, he can "see" and "hear" through his other senses, the sixth sense.
-Increased hearing: He can hear the faintest of sound even when muffled by something solid like through the wall, the movement of feet, the moment the bullet enters a gun and is shot, swords whistling through the air, the sweep of robes, a call of his name across a courtyard, a cry of animal
- Third eye: On psychic clairvoyance, he can see spirits and ghosts, the auras of people, if he closes his mind and have his blindfold on, he can see and sense them in his mind's eye, as long they're in a close radius of a few yards. Considering like a mental ping.
- Telepathy/empathy: He can speak into a person's mind and put thoughts into the person's mind and also the ability to feel the person's emotions. It's only for a few moments with a mental ping, and how much energy he puts into it
WEAKNESS: Even if he manages to regrow his normal eyes back, he has low vision and may need glasses, and long prolonged use of his vision will cause dizziness and headaches, and he has increased sensitivity to light
SKILLS: Wuxia-style martial art, sword fighting techniques, cultivator. Being a taoist priest, he is trained in martial arts/acrobat. I am unable to return. My departure from my world is too painful to discuss. I leave behind unfinished business, and even then I do not know, but only darkness and pain.
2) "Have you ever served in the military? What is your experience with armed combat?"
When I was young, I lived in the mountains in sect with a master teacher where I made vows to cultivate. I have ideals for a peaceful world, so joining the military is something I will never do. I learned the way of the sword to be a swordsman and I was trained to fight a particular style of martial arts in a secluded sect devoted to cultivation. But training to fight others and be a part of any sect doesn't interest me. I wished for a peaceful world where there are no wars, but people who are a part of sects without any past or connect bloodlines.
3) "Have you ever done something that you regret? What would you do differently?"
I deeply regret being a blind fool. I was misled and tricked to kill so many by my past crimes. It was all my fault, and right now, I don't know how to set things right again, even if it's my past, my past determines my path.
4) "Has anyone ever harmed you? How will you react if you encounter them in this world?"
I have been harmed by someone I trusted for years. I was lead to believe in him and become manipulated by his petty need for revenge. If I ever meet him again, I will set things right. I will not be angry or sad over my past mistakes because of this betrayal of this friend.
5) "What is the worst thing that's ever happened to you?"
When my best friend Song Lan was grieving over the massacre at the Baixue temple that Xue Yang caused, he is blinded by poison. So I gave up my eyes to him, so he could finally see. He was grieving and lashed out at me, and left, and I had been blinded ever since. I wandered from town to town, offering my services as a Taoist priest. In hoping to save the world and redeem myself, I often help people for free.
